Epidemic and prevention of duck viral hepatitis
2020/08/04

Duck viral hepatitis (DVH) is a rapidly spreading and highly lethal viral infectious disease in ducklings. It is caused by duck hepatitis A virus (DHAV), duck astrovirus (dastv) and duck hepatitis B virus (DHBV). It mainly infects the ducklings under 3 weeks of age (Woolcock, It is characterized by acute onset, short course of disease and high mortality. The clinical symptoms included hornet's reflex and other neurological symptoms. Liver enlargement and bleeding were found in autopsy. Since its discovery on Long Island in 1945 (Levine and hofstad, 1945), duck viral hepatitis has been reported in Massachusetts, Britain, Canada, Germany, Egypt and the Netherlands. Duck viral hepatitis was first reported in Shanghai in 1963 (Huang Junjian et al., 1963), and then the virus was detected in different areas of China (Wang Ping Ping Ping, 1980; Ren Zuyi and Wu Guodong, 1985; Jiang Wencan et al., 1989).

Duck viral hepatitis (DVH) caused by duck hepatitis A virus (DHAV) has a worldwide distribution. The ducklings show obvious symptoms of gonorrhoea after the onset and death. The main pathological features are liver swelling and bleeding, with high transmission and contact. The disease has a rapid onset and a high mortality rate. DHAV genotypes can be divided into three types: original genotype (dhav-1), Taiwan isolate (dhav-2) and Korean and Chinese isolate (dhav-3). Because of the poor cross protection among the three genotypes, the three genotypes correspond to three serotypes dhav-1, dhav-2 and dhav-3 respectively. In mainland China, duck viral hepatitis is mainly caused by dhav-1 and dhav-3. The clinical symptoms and pathological changes of Ducklings Infected by the two viruses are very similar. It is difficult to distinguish them from each other in clinical diagnosis, and there is mixed infection between them in production, which makes the prevention and treatment of duck viral hepatitis more difficult.

Since DHAV was first reported in 1945, dhav-1 has been the dominant serotype prevalent worldwide and also in China (Chen Haijun et al., 2007; Zhu Junping, 2007; Gao et al., 2012). However, in recent years, in many areas of China, the active or passive immunization against dhav-1 can not effectively control the outbreak of duck viral hepatitis in this area. It has been reported that the South Korean strain dhav-3 which is prevalent in South Korea has been found in Sichuan, Shandong, Beijing and Guangxi in China (Cheng an Chun et al., 1993; Su Jingliang et al., 2002; Huang Anguo et al., 2003; Xu et al., 2012). In some areas of China, the mixed infection of two subtypes of dhav-1 and dhav-3 has even occurred (yuan Bizhen et al., 2010; Ding and Zhang, 2007; Fu et al., 2008; Wang et al., 2012) al., 2008; Chenet al., 2013, 2014)。 In recent years, it has been reported that the clinical infection rate of dhav-3 in duck industry in China has been gradually higher than that of dhav-1 (Yu Fu et al., 2008; Huang et al., 2012; Chen et al., 2013, 2104). The investigation by Kim et al. In Korea showed that the infection rate of dhav-3 in clinical cases in Korea was significantly higher than that in dhav-1 (Kim et al.), Therefore, experts infer that dhav-3 is gradually replacing dhav-1 as the dominant serotype of duck hepatitis A virus in Southeast Asia.

According to the above characteristics of the disease, Liaoning Yikang biological Co., Ltd. developed duck liver stop duck viral hepatitis freeze-dried egg yolk antibody

Product features:

It was effective on duck viral hepatitis dhav-1 and dhav-3;

Using the extraction and purification technology, the product is pure, no impurity protein, easy to absorb;

Using tangential flow ultrafiltration concentration technology, the antibody titer is high;

Freeze drying technology is easy to store and transport, and can be stored at 2 ~ 8 ℃ for 36 months;

Co60 irradiation technology, without any pathogen, is safer to use;

The results showed that the non-specific immune factors could inhibit the replication of duck viral hepatitis virus in ducks, and the antibody could be used to treat duck viral hepatitis more effectively;

Only one dose is needed for prevention and treatment.
